Hats, Heels &Highballs 2018

Maria Etkind

On August 19, 2018 I showcased my millinery creations at Hats, Heels and Highballs. The event was hosted by St. Charles Avenue Magazine and it was held at Harrah's Casino Theater. The proceeds from the event benefited Dress for Success New Orleans, a nonprofit, volunteer driven organization that works with over 50 New Orleans agencies to identify disadvantaged women who, with a hand up, not a hand out, can gain employment and economic independence.

If you know me you know that I love fashion. Which is why organizing my fashion show was a dream come true.  I wanted my models to wear something out of either their own wardrobe or borrowed from me. It was important for me to show the ladies at the event that they can wear my hats with everyday items from their closet.  I presented 8 looks and also set up my vendor table.

It was a great experience for my millinery business and a fun day with all my friends and family!

Bridal Party Headband

Maria Etkind

I had the pleasure of making a beautiful headband for a new client. She wanted something young and easy to wear for her brother in-laws Dutch wedding. We met at my studio and she brought her outfit. We decide on using sinamay and beading. She told me she loves bows and wanted to keep the colors of the sinamay similar to her outfit. She loved her finished hat!
